Hi, I’m Erin.

I believe that we are most at peace in our life when our actions are aligned with what we deeply value, and I approach therapy with this in mind.
Our relationship should be a collaborative process built on mutual respect, genuineness, and trust. In our work together, I strive to build an authentic therapeutic relationship where we can work together to identify your values and take actionable steps towards creating meaningful change in your life. I want to help you cultivate a sense of self, find deeper connection in your relationships, and learn to surf the inevitable waves of life.
Erin Peterson, Valued Living Therapy in Edina Minnesota specializes in help for trauma recovery, couples counseling, sex therapy, eating disorder recovery, and perinatal and postpartum parenting concerns.

How I Can Help

As everyone’s goals for therapy are different, my treatment is tailored to your specific needs and concerns. I work from an interactive, strengths-based approach; assisting and supporting clients to be the authors of their own lives. Warmth, genuineness, and humor are all aspects of my approach, and I aim to create a space where clients feel comfortable engaging in critical thinking and introspection. I truly believe in the importance of integrating past and present experiences, helping clients feel empowered and more satisfied both individually and in relationships with others.

My Interests

I am always reading at least two books at a time and love to read science fiction/fantasy in addition to non-fiction. I have to play the NYT Games with a cup of coffee in the morning before I do anything else. I enjoy plants and gardening, camping at state parks, and travelling to places far and away. My favorite thing in the world is going on adventures with my family and friends.
