How I Can Help

Recently, the worsening/unfortunate social attitude around ageing has spurred me to begin to see people in individual practice who are on the receiving end of this challenge. I feel strongly about each person’s right to respect, dignity and grace, and will offer these to you consistently and without question. I am experienced and specialize in Trauma Informed Eclectic approaches, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Narrative Therapy, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy.

Experience

Julie holds a Master of Arts, Advanced Practice, and two independent, unrestricted licenses, the LPCC (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor) and the LADC (Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor). She is also a MN BBHT approved clinical supervisor. Recently, she has held clinical therapeutic and leadership positions in outpatient practice, Residential Treatment, Intensive Outpatient Programming, Rule 29 behavioral health clinics, and inpatient mental health hospital-based care.

Julie’s early social work experience, then later post Master’s licensed clinical practice has spanned several decades and has included working with adults, children, and families. Her focused populations have been parents, people struggling with co-occurring disorders and finally complex trauma. She has extensive group experience in several ‘levels of care’ with differing patient populations. In the last year she estimates doing over 500 groups with her own originally developed curriculum.
